Section 01
Overview
SwipeSplit ("the app", "we", "our") is an image-splitting tool for Android that lets you divide a wide or panoramic image into equal frames ready for Instagram carousels and other social media platforms.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data is collected, why, and how it is handled when you use the app.
Section 02
Data We Collect
SwipeSplit itself does not collect or store personal information directly. The following data is processed or collected through the third-party SDKs integrated into the app:
Photos you import are processed entirely on-device. Temporary split-session files are stored in the app's private cache directory and are automatically deleted on the next app launch.
Exported frames are saved to your device gallery under Pictures/SwipeSplit
and are never transmitted anywhere.
When the app crashes or encounters an error, Firebase Crashlytics automatically collects:
- Stack traces and error messages
- Device model, OS version, and app version
- A random installation UUID (not linked to your Google account or identity)
- Timestamps of crashes
No personally identifiable information (PII) is included in crash reports.
The app displays ads via Google AdMob (banner, interstitial, and rewarded formats). Google may collect:
- Advertising ID (Android Ad ID)
- Device identifiers and IP address
- Interaction data (ad impressions, clicks)
- Approximate location (inferred from IP)
Users with an active Pro subscription do not see ads.
In-app purchases (Pro subscription) are handled entirely by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment details. Google Play may collect purchase history as per its own privacy policy.
Section 03
Third-Party Services
The following third-party services are used in SwipeSplit. Each operates under its own privacy policy:
Used for crash reporting and app stability monitoring.
Used to display advertisements to free-tier users. Supports banner, interstitial, and rewarded ad formats.
Used to process in-app purchases for the Pro subscription.
Section 04
How We Use Your Data
The data collected through third-party SDKs is used solely for:
- Crash reporting — to identify and fix bugs that affect app stability.
- Advertising — to display relevant ads to free-tier users and support ongoing development.
- Purchase verification — to confirm and restore Pro subscription status.
We do not use any data for marketing, profiling, or sale to third parties.
Section 05
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your data to any third party. Data is only shared with the integrated third-party SDKs listed above, which have their own independent data practices. We have no control over the data those services collect once it leaves the device.
We may disclose data if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of users or the public.
Section 06
Data Retention
Crash reports are retained by Firebase Crashlytics for up to 90 days. Ad interaction data is retained by Google per their standard policies. We do not independently store any data on external servers.
Temporary image cache files on your device are deleted automatically each time the app starts. Exported carousel frames in your gallery are under your full control and can be deleted at any time.
Section 07
Children's Privacy
SwipeSplit is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
Section 08
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access & portability — request a copy of data held about you.
- Deletion — request deletion of crash report data by contacting us.
- Opt-out of personalized ads — you can reset or opt out of your Android Advertising ID in Settings → Privacy → Ads.
- GDPR (EU/EEA users) — you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, and objection under the General Data Protection Regulation.
- CCPA (California residents) — you have the right to know what personal information is collected and to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal data.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details below.
Section 09
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
For significant changes, we will provide a notice within the app.
